SEX TABOO

Have you ever wondered about why 'sex talks' are sometimes taboo? Or how sex
attitudes can impact one's sexual health outcomes? Then this is the workshop for you!

Let's explore the issue of (queer) sex taboo in our lives, and the influence messages we receive from our family, friends, media and religion have on us.

This workshop is open to all QAY members and other youth. RSVPs are appreciated for the workshop.

Back in January 2000, the first QAY event was held, in the form of a Bubble Tea Lounge (BBT).  Join us as we commemorate our 10th Anniversary with a line-up of special events scheduled for mid-February and Pride Week!

Join QAY at our holiday social as we wind down a year of much change, with hot chocolate, gingerbread friends and fun activities.  

Also, this will be your opportunity to provide your feedback on your satisfaction with the program and what you wish for it in the coming year!  Each person who submits an evaluation on the day will be given the chance to enter into a raffle for one of three $20 gift cards to any store at the Eaton Centre!

Art exhibit viewing and workshop!

Recently, museums and galleries have shown an interest in the colourful syncretism of the Day of the Dead celebration, focusing on the traditional and folkloric aspects of the ritual. Bringing Down Our Dead departs from that approach, offering a contemporary expression of the ritual, while reflecting the political and social beliefs of our times. The artists’ works -- painting, video, performance, and installation -- pay tribute to the memory of the departed, and they also denounce violence, voice concerns, and record everyday events. The approaches taken by the artists are informed by their individual experiences as well as by the ways in which contemporary issues both reflect and deflect from those experiences.
